Work Includes

Collaborating with a team of designers, we crafted a brand identity for The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga's BFA Senior Thesis Exhibition. We seamlessly integrated this branding across various print and digital materials.

Overview

At its core, this exhibition reflects the simple yet profound notion that artists translate the concepts of their minds into tangible creations through their hands. The show embraces diverse styles and personalities, each uniquely expressed through the language of hand gestures. The work presented represents the culmination of each artist's dedication and personal journey.

The 2024 BFA Senior Thesis Exhibition provides an opportunity for viewers to peer into the minds of emerging artists, gaining insight into their interpretations of the world and the paths they've forged in their artistic pursuits. The hands of these creators become instruments, manifesting ideas in a variety of mediums that speak to the depth of their exploration.

Brand

Process

As part of the branding of the 2024 BFA Senior Thesis Exhibition, we decided to create a website. Collaborating with graphic designers Megan Bailey and Hailee Kennedy, we began by developing wireframes, sketches, and site maps to determine the website's structure and aesthetic. The website showcases each senior's thesis work, including their statements and links to their artist websites and social media profiles. Aligning with our established design elements, we utilized ample white space, the Helvetica typeface, each artist's hand, and the RGBY color scheme throughout the site. Working closely with Megan Bailey, we coded the website from scratch on Neocities. Our primary focus was ensuring user-friendliness, seamless functionality across mobile and desktop devices, and maintaining consistency in design elements. I also prepared assets for the website including cropping and resizing hand images, photographing each artist’s work while displayed in the gallery, and preparing those images for the web. Although the website is still a work in progress, this project has been a valuable learning experience, providing us with insights into the design and development process of a website.
